Profile MYO-1692: Adriel

Owned by M3RDR

a mysterious self-proclaimed prophet here to spread the word of The Mother. leader of a cult of non-mignyans who worship The Mother

Adriel genuinely views themself as a prophet chosen to spread the word of The Mother, aka further the Mignyan invasion. Despite this they're quite humble, and rather soft-spoken when not preaching. Almost eerily calm, and seems to always wear a benevolent smile on their face. Has a tendency to say (seemingly) random cryptic stuff in Latin.

They're highly charismatic and tend to have an easy time getting others to listen to them and follow their words, but some, particularly other mignyans, find their demeanor unsettling. Most other mignyans also tend to be put off by Adriel's claim to be a prophet. Adriel doesn't feel any particular animosity towards them, and in fact highly respects any and all pro-invasion Mignyans, as they consider anyone spreading the word and will of The Mother to be admirable. They definitely don't like anti-invasion Mignyans very much, but they pray that they may come to their senses some day.

Adriel has a great deal of 'love' and pity for non-Mignyans and genuinely wholeheartedly believes the Mignyan invasion to be the best for everyone, including the hosts.

Adriel's history and whereabouts before inhabiting their current host are completely unknown, with no records of any previous hosts. However, their extensive knowledge of Earth culture and languages suggests that they've been here a while.

Adriel's host was previously a seminarian and previous altar boy named Elijah. The son of a priest, he had been raised religious and intended to become a priest himself, but in recent years he had slowly begun to doubt himself and his faith, and his mental health began to spiral from the guilt and pressure he felt because of this. His entire community was within the church and he feared being shunned by them for his doubts, so the only one he had to turn to was God.

He would spend hours upon hours in the church in front of the stained glass windows, praying and praying for God to give him some kind of sign.

One day, Elijah was approached by Adriel in crab form. Elijah, being blind, couldn't see the crab, but the way Adriel spoke to him so reassusingly made Elijah believe that Adriel was the sign he had been praying for, an angel sent by God. Adriel said they needed Elijah's body for a "divine mission", and Elijah, crying tears of joy, willingly offered it and Adriel took over his body.

Adriel quickly amassed a following among non-Mignyans, who nicknamed themselves Children of The Mother and took over the church for their own purposes. Some of Elijah's old community joined the growing cult, being convinced by Adriel's words that The Mother was the real God. Some others believed it to be demonic possession and left. Anyone who seemed to be raising trouble for the cult in any way, however, seemed to disappear mysteriously, so the old members who are left keep very quiet about it.

Adriel still owns Elijah's worn rosary. Though the Christian God means nothing to Adriel, they keep it as a sign of the host's devotion.
